Admissions Officer for German International University – GIU
About the job
Our mission at the German International University in Cairo is to give our students the best possible education that prepares them for the workforce. This is our primary concern. We’re looking for a friendly and organized admissions officer to help us enroll students in our academic programs. You’ll join our wonderful Admissions team and help with our student recruitment and enrollment activities.
Job Description
Receive new applicants and provide information about admissions application procedures.
Accepting and filtering student applications
Handles admissions test sessions.
Advises applicants on academic and procedural requirements for a successful admissions application.
Assessing applications according to our eligibility criteria
Updates applicants’ data in admissions databases and contributes to the institutional database of prospective, potential, and current students in the state.
Pre-screen final high school certificates for applicants.
Evaluate students’ high school certificates to decide the eligibility of applicants for the desired study program and decide on the tuition category.
responsible for the reception area during peak admissions time.
Providing consultations with prospective students when requested
Advises students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admissions and other requirements, policies and procedures, the transfer of credit, and financial assistance, as appropriate.
Communicate with applicants about their application status, including acceptance or rejection.
Responsible for transfer admissions, coordinating academic equivalency, and providing academic advice to transfer applicants.
Referring accepted students to scholarship and bursary information as applicable
Follows up on newly accepted applicants’ completion of documents for a successful admissions application.
Visits schools and colleges, speaks to groups and individual students, and holds presentations for school students to familiarize them with admission and procedural requirements.

اتحاد الطلبة
قامت إدارة الجامعة الألمانية بالموافقة علي إنشاء اتحاد طلبة وإقامة استفتاء علي لائحة طلابية وذلك بعد سلسلة من احتجاجات الطلبة التي أدت إلي فصل 15 طالب ثم تراجعت الجامعة عن القرار بعد ذلك ووافقت علي ان يقوم الطلبة بكتابة اللائحة الطلابية والتي كان من المفترض ان يستفتي عليها في سبتمبر 2012 لولا إلغاء الإدارة للاستفتاء مستندة الي حجج اعتبرها الطلاب واهية مما دفعهم إلي اقامة الاستفتاء والإشراف عليه بأنفسهم وقد فاق عدد المشاركين 2500 طالب وكانت نهاية المشهد هي اقامة إدارة الجامعة للاستفتاء علي اللائحة وذلك بعد تعديل بعض بنودها الأمر الذي رفضه الطلبة والذي أدي إلي انخفاض نسبة المشاركة في هذا الاستفتاء وقد تم انتخاب أول اتحاد طلبة في نوفمبر وديسمبر 2012
إنجازات الطلاب
حقق طلاب وأساتذة الجامعة الألمانية إنجازات ضخمة مقارنة بعمر الجامعة، وأهم هذه الإنجازات تتلخص في:
الحصول علي المركز الأول علي مستوي أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط في ACMICP
المركز الثاني في مؤتمر طلاب الصيدلة لاقليم شرق المتوسط
المركز الأول في مسابقة روبوكوب العالمية لعام 2010 في سنغافورة
المركز الثاني في روبوكوب لعام 2009 في النمسا
