About the job
JOB PURPOSE

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of the bank’s database environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a DBA role, and a strong understanding of Oracle and / or MSSQL Database.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage and administer database systems and Real Application Cluster (RAC).
Troubleshoot, investigate and escalate database problems.
Install, configure, and maintain enterprise database system and support tools.
Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
Monitor database performance and identify and resolve problems.
Implement and maintain database security measures.
Backup and restore databases.
Manage database users and permissions.
Work with other IT team members to ensure the smooth operation of the bank’s database environment.
Work closely with Cloud, System and Application support teams to resolve common issues in addition to ensure smooth co-operation and coordinated planning.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a DBA role with Oracle 19c/12c is preferred.
SQL, PL/SQL experience.
Basic Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is preferable.
Basic knowledge in MSSQL is preferable.
