Centamin principal asset, the Sukari Gold Mine, is a long-life, bulk tonnage open pit, and underground operation. أين يقع منجم السكرى للذهب؟
يقع منجم السكرى بالصحراء الشرقية على بعد 30 كم، من مدينة مرسى علم، وهو منجم فرعونى قديم، وتدل الآثار على استغلال الفراعنة والرومان له، كما عمل الإنجليز على استغلاله، وكان المنجم الحكومى الوحيد حتى توقف الإنتاج به عام 1954 وتبلغ أبعاد الجبل نحو 3 كم طولا، بعرض 500م ومتوسط ارتفاع 285 مترا.
متى وقعت هيئة الثروة المعدنية اتفاقية المنجم ومتى بدأ الانتاج؟
وقعت الهيئة مع الشركة الفرعونية لمناجم الذهب اتفاقية عام 1994، وتم الإعلان عن الكشف التجارى للذهب وتأسيس شركة العمليات تحت مسمى “شركة السكرى لمناجم الذهب”، وبدأت فى الإنتاج اعتباراً من مارس 2010.
